Denise Medgard | Vice President of Financing
Employment
Denise has worked with Marathon for several years helping to keep the projects we manage on budget. Her responsibilities include job cost accounting, preparing construction draws, providing financial analysis for our clients and working closely with the lenders who service our client’s. Denise has developed a customized project management database specifically for Marathon for tracking all discipline’s contracts on each project.
Experience
Denise has an extensive background and experience with over 25 years in accounting in the design/build construction industry.
As the Office Manager/Accountant for over eleven years with a Seattle based architectural firm specializing in designing multi-family housing, Denise tracked multiple project cost centers, as well as providing supervision to the administrative staff and overall accounting functions of the firm.
For several years Denise worked as an independent consultant for Timberline Accounting Software, an accounting software designed specifically for the construction industry, and for Quickbooks products through Intuit. During this time her duties included visiting many Pacific Northwest firms in the design/building/construction industry, installing software, training personnel, and consulting with administrative staff on solutions to manage their job costing and financial infrastructure.
Prior to coming to work with Marathon, Denise spent seven years working for a national project management firm specializing in federal contracting on projects ranging from airports, rail systems, water treatment plants and many more large projects. With offices in Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles, and Dallas, Denise supported all of those offices with all job cost and operational accounting functions.
Denise’s efforts not only prove to be instrumental in the operations of Marathon, but she works as a liaison between funding sources and our customers developing and maintaining a close working relationship with the myriad of private and public groups who play a key part in all of our projects.
